Job summary

An exciting opportunity for a clinical lead who wants to specialise in perinatal mental health and be part of our dedicated specialist team.

The successful candidates will receive appropriate specialist perinatal training. The shift pattern on the Mother and Baby Unit is three long days three weeks a month and one four long day week. All staff are expected to rotate onto night shift.

Main duties of the job

Your role will be providing that experience, knowledge, and support to the nursing team, focusing on the quality of clinical care provided. As part of the wider MDT this includes triaging referrals and supporting junior staff to do the same. Improving the quality of care through supervision and auditing will be important aspects of the role.

Essential

  • Registered Mental Health Nurse Qualification.
  • On-going registration with the NMC.
  • Evidence of accredited learning at Degree level 6 or above that is relative to clinical practice.

Knowledge

Essential

  • Can demonstrate an in depth knowledge of mental health conditions and their recommended treatments.
  • Can demonstrate a working knowledge of physical health conditions and the complications that this can cause to patients experiencing mental ill health.
  • Thorough knowledge of acute and community mental health care

Experience

Essential

  • Post Graduate experience. Experience of working within a multi-disciplinary team structure.
  • Experience of assessing, planning, implementing and reviewing care needs.
  • Experience of working with carers, families of service users
