Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced RMN to undertake a development opportunity at Dane Garth Inpatient Mental Health Services. The base for the post will be Dova ward which is a 20 bedded Mental Health acute ward.
This Senior Nurse Development post will appeal to nurses who are keen develop skills and knowledge to improve the care and experience of patients in who are experiencing significant difficulties with their mental health, providing input to their recovery on a day to day basis.
Within the development programme You will develop skills in leadership, and ability to role model, coach and mentor junior colleagues and students, and overcome challenges and problem solving any complex clinical issues.
The successful advocate will receive support from the ward manager, practice development nurse, modern matron and others in order to flourish in progression into an accomplished Band 6 Senior Nurse.
We are looking for people who are passionate and motivated about their own continued professional development, the development and progression of the team, and continuous quality improvement for the benefit of patients, carers and staff.
This is a 12 month programme. Main duties of the job
Within the role you will maintain and role model high standards in your everyday practise. You will support the ward manager and seniors in achieving high levels of performance and quality in supervision.
You will ensure collaboration and drive to improve the service provided, proactive in the support of least restrictive practice amongst your direct and wider team.You will support in the coaching and mentoring of junior staff and students. .
You will take initiative and lead in exploring and promoting quality improvements and changes in service, keeping patient experience at the heart of everything we do.
The role will be demanding and but also extremely rewarding. You will receive support, supervision and training opportunity internally through practice development, internal and external programmes, whilst you will be encouraged and supported to access continued professional development.
