Are you an enthusiastic, organised and motivated occupational therapist with a specialist interest in stroke and neuro?
We have an exciting opportunity for a Band 5 Occupational Therapist to join our Specialist Multidisciplinary Community Neuro Rehabilitation Team. The post provides an excellent opportunity to develop specialist skills in neurological assessment and rehabilitation whilst working as a member of a supportive team.
As a Band 5 stroke Occupational Therapist, you will have access to regular supervision, in-service training sessions along with the opportunity to develop clinical competencies as part of your appraisal.
Due to the specialty nature of the role, the post would be an ideal fit for a Band 5 Occupational Therapist with experience working in the community setting and with a basic working knowledge of treating patients and/or neuro patients.
We provide therapy in a number of environments including clinics, patients' homes, and other community settings. Modalities within the team include the use of FES and Saeboflex, full training will be given.

Main duties of the job
The Community Neurological Rehabilitation Team (CNRT) provides ongoing rehabilitation to patients within the Chorley, South Ribble and Greater Preston locality with predominantly a Stroke and ABI diagnosis. Referrals to the team are mainly from the acute hospital in-patient setting, however, referrals from primary care and the third sector are also accepted. The team has an active involvement with the Lancashire & South Cumbria Integrated Stroke and Neuro Rehabilitation Delivery Network and the continued implementation of the Lancashire and South Cumbria Stroke Service Specification.
The CNRT is a large multidisciplinary team, led by a dynamic team of Clinical Specialists, an Operational Lead, and a Principal Practitioner. The team includes speech and language therapy, physiotherapy, and occupational therapy disciplines along with Neuropsychology and experienced generic rehabilitation assistants.
We are a large, supportive, friendly team that values interdisciplinary work, striving to provide clinical excellence. We are committed to providing an enhanced, evidence based, interdisciplinary approach to patient care within a dynamic MDT. Our rehabilitation pathway is patient centered where functional goals are embedded within team practice and shape and inform the delivery of therapy.
