Are you a passionate Occupational Therapist looking to develop your skills and progress towards a band 6 role?
We are excited to offer a Developmental Occupational Therapist post designed to support you through a structured transition from Band 5 to 6. This is a fantastic opportunity to build your clinical confidence, leadership capability and specialist knowledge in a supportive and forward-thinking rehabilitation team.
You will receive structured supervision, mentoring and access to CPD activities to support your progression. The role is ideal for someone passionate about developing clinical skills and gaining experience in a supportive, multidisciplinary environment.
You will have supervision and support from experienced Band 6 and 7 occupational therapists along with a clear progression plan. We envisage the journey to take around 12-18 months to complete. Once you are able and committed to deliver the role as described in the job description, you will submit a Competency Log and attend an interview aimed at appointing you to the Band 6 OT role.
Main duties of the job
The Community Neurological Rehabilitation Team (CNRT) provides ongoing rehabilitation to patients within the Chorley, South Ribble and Greater Preston locality with predominantly a Stroke and ABI diagnosis. Referrals to the team are mainly from the acute hospital in-patient setting, however, referrals from primary care and the third sector are also accepted. The team has an active involvement with the Lancashire & South Cumbria Integrated Stroke and Neuro Rehabilitation Delivery Network and the continued implementation of the Lancashire and South Cumbria Stroke Service Specification.
The CNRT is a large multidisciplinary team, led by a dynamic team of Clinical Specialists, an operational lead and a Principal Practitioner. The team includes Speech and Language Therapy, Physiotherapy and Occupational Therapy disciplines along with Neuropsychology and highly experienced generic rehabilitation assistants.
We are looking for an enthusiastic, versatile, innovative individual with a commitment to working within an interdisciplinary environment, who has extensive experience of working with patients with stroke and neurological conditions.
About us
You will be responsible for the specialist assessment, treatment planning and management of individualised rehabilitation programmes for a wide variety of neurological clinical presentations and will be responsible for delegation to clinical staff and generic rehabilitation assistants as well as supporting them in the delivery of this rehabilitation.
Lancashire & South Cumbria NHS Foundation Trust provides a range of services including secondary mental health care across this area. Specialist provision comprises inpatient child and adolescent mental health services, perinatal mental health and forensic services including low and medium secure care.
The Trust also provides a range of physical health and well-being services in the community alongside a range of partners in the Lancashire, Cumbria and Sefton area.
