Would you like to join a friendly and supportive team, where you can make a significant different to the lives of women, their infants and families? Due to significant expansion of our perinatal service, we have an exciting opportunity for an Assistant Psychologist to join the team.
The service prioritises access and care for women/birthing people with moderate to severe mental illnesses who are most in need of specialist, comprehensive, multi-agency coordinated care. The perinatal CMHT works closely with general adult services, maternity services, primary care and social services to ensure that the needs of such patients are better understood and met.
Main duties of the job
The role of the post holder will be to contribute to the psychological care of service users under the care of the perinatal service. Tasks will include assisting with psychological assessment and intervention (individual and group) under the supervision of a qualified clinical psychologist, assisting in clinically related administration, conducting audits and collection of statistics related to departmental research projects, teaching and project work.
The post will require liaison and joint working with multidisciplinary colleagues and agencies, and the ability to communicate complex and highly sensitive information, using well developed interpersonal and team working skills.
The post holder will be provided with professional support and weekly supervision from senior clinical psychology colleagues, and there are opportunities to develop special interests through continuing professional development.
