Job summary
This fantastic opportunity is for existing mental health professionals to complete their training as CBT therapists. The trainee CBT therapists will work within the NHS Lancashire & South Cumbria Talking Therapies service, providing CBT to people experiencing anxiety and depression. The training will take place with the University of Cumbria and will be face to face teaching at their university campus in Lancaster.Applicants applying through the KSA route can view the eligibility requirements via Knowledge Skills and Attitudes (babcp.com). Experience of working within a Talking Therapies service is desirable.All applicants should refer to the person specification for further post requirements. Applicants who have a registered core profession will be considered for shortlisting along with those who are currently a PWP with two years post qualification experience and have a completed KSA portfolio to submit to the university as part of the application process, * KSA needs to be submitted to the university by 30th September 2025 before a firm offer can be made. Main duties of the job
This is a training role within the Improving Access To Psychological Therapies Programme (IAPT). The post-holder will work within the IAPT service providing high intensity interventions whilst undertaking a programme of training for this role. This intensive training post will equip the post - holder to provide a cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) service to clients with a range of complex problems for which CBT is demonstrated to be clinically effective. The post- holder will work in the service for 3 days of the week using the newly developed skills whilst attending the training programme for the other two days.
The post holder will work with people with different cultural backgrounds and ages, using interpreters when necessary and should be committed to equal opportunities
