Job summary
Water Meadow View is a brand new mental health inpatient facility for adults who have learning disabilities, which is due to open in November 2025 on our site in Whittingham, Preston. As we prepare to open, we have an exciting opportunity for Clinical Team Leaders to join us and support the Multi-Disciplinary Team to deliver outstanding person centred care.
One of the Trust's aims is to deliver the best possible care to our patients. Water Meadow View will offer clinical excellence, support and safety with patient-centred care at its heart.
Working with the multi-disciplinary team, the post holder will lead and be responsible for the delivery of high-quality, evidenced based care and patient experience within the care group's inpatient settings through proactive clinical leadership to the multidisciplinary staff within their clinical area of responsibility.

Main duties of the job
The successful candidate will have leadership experience, exceptional communication skills, motivational and influencing skills, and be able to encourage teams to work across organisational boundaries whilst holding patient care at the heart of their work.
The post holder will deliver on key responsibilities within the inpatient service by:
- Being visible and leading by example.
- Using clinical judgement and observations.
- Ensuring clinical development of staff and student nurses.
- Ensuring that patients and carers are fully involved in the planning and delivery of care.
- Taking responsibility for shift coordination and leading the team in the delivery of safe, effective and quality clinical care.
- Ensuring safe and high-quality care is delivered.
- Driving up clinical standards.
About us
*The Welcome Bonus is only available to candidates who are not currently employed (or who have not been employed in the last 12 months) by any NHS provider Trust in the Lancashire & South Cumbria (LSC) Integrated Care System (ICS) in a like-for-like role or core profession. For example, a Band 6 Occupational Therapist / Social Worker / Mental Health Nurse at another Trust in the LSC ICS would not be eligible for the bonus if moving to a Band 6 Occupational Therapist / Social Worker / Mental Health Nurse role at LSCft or in a role such as Mental Health Practitioner Role that requires the same profession.These trusts are:
- University Hospitals of Morecambe Bay Trust
- East Lancashire Hospitals NHS Trust
- Lancashire Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust
- Blackpool Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust
Bank only workers for Lancashire and South Cumbria NHS Foundation Trust are eligible for the scheme if they have not held a substantive role in Lancashire & South Cumbria Integrated Care System in the last 12 months (subject to all other terms and conditions being met). These incentives are subject to recovery clauses. This bonus is applicable from 1st July 2024 - 31st December 2025.
The £7k Welcome Bonus package is designed to attract and retain the very best staff in post. The amount a new starter would receive is shown in the Welcome Bonus Payment Schedule below:
- £3,000 after 2 months of employment (counted from start date with LSCFT
- £2,000 after 12 months
- £2,000 after 24 months
