Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Pennine Memory Assessment Service. We are seeking a highly motivated, enthusiastic, and compassionate assistant psychologist with a genuine interest in older adult mental health and working with people with dementia. The team specialises in completing comprehensive assessments with people who have difficulties with their memory.

Main duties of the job

The Assistant Psychologist will work closely with the Clinical Neuropsychologist and as part of the wider multidisciplinary team. The post holder will support the completion of cognitive and specialist neuropsychological assessment as appropriate, to help timely assessment and diagnosis of dementia. The role will involve participating in MDT discussions, maintaining waiting lists and completion of audits.

The position is open to applicants who have an undergraduate psychology degree. We require someone who is organised, can work autonomously and has excellent people skills.

  • Entitlement to graduate membership of the British Psychological Society

Knowledge

  • A good knowledge of lifespan psychology applied to health care
