Job summary

If so, we have the perfect opportunity for you to join our experienced and innovative Leadership Team as Head of Clinical Service in our Children's and Young People's Mental Health Team.

As the Head of Clinical Service in The Bay, you will be joining our fantastic team delivering a locality based model across the footprint of Lancashire and South Cumbria. You will have the opportunity to deliver the vision for the service, implementing and shaping a new clinical model to meet the needs of the local population and working closely with our multi-agency partners and colleagues in the ICB. Promoting the Trust's values and priorities to employees, stakeholders, and the community, you will be responsible for delivering on plans and KPIs, translating them into clear objectives for your team to make a positive difference in the lives of children and families.

Main duties of the job

The Head of Clinical Service is an accountable officer within the network locality and is responsible for the delivery of all patient services within the allocated care group. This involves ensuring that high quality services are provided to patients and that all operational and performance targets, including waiting lists, finance and HR are achieved. The role also includes ensuring that services are continually improved and developed in line with best practice standards.

The Head of Clinical Service (HCS) will work in a team of managers within the network, alongside senior clinical colleagues, together to ensuring consistent quality of services is achieved across the organisation whilst delivering the specific elements commissioned through local delivery plans. The Head of Clinical Service will be responsible for direct line management of the service managers within the locality and have overall responsibility for the clinical team.

Holding highly specialist clinical knowledge and experience across a range of multi disciplinary functions, the Head of Service has operational responsibility for service delivery, integration of multi-agency services, operational and strategic management of clinical care and quality in relation to child and adolescent mental health. This involves detailed partnership working with colleagues within LSCft, the Pan Lancashire ICB arrangements, other NHS and 3rd sector providers, as well as Local Authority Commissioners and national programs.

Specialist provision comprises inpatient child and adolescent mental health services, perinatal mental health and forensic services including low and medium secure care.
