Job summary
We are looking for a learning disability nurse with the passion and clinical skills to be part of the Children's Learning Disability Team in Central and West Lancashire. The clinical development of our employees is a high priority. We have therefore opened up opportunities for nurses at Band 5 to be offered a developmental post aimed at meeting the band 6 post competencies.
A means of transport is essential and applicants must be willing to undergo an enhanced DBS check.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will, as part of a multi-disciplinary team, work towards addressing the health, psychological, emotional and behavioural needs of children and young people with a learning disability and/or Autism. They will be responsible for their caseload and supervise that of other practitioners within the service. The post holder will also take a senior role in undertaking and supporting assessments for the school aged Autism Spectrum Disorder Pathway.
The post holder will undertake a personalised training and development programme, to support them to acquire the level of experience and competency required to work at Band 6 level. Once this is achieved the applicant will progress into a Band 6 role.
