Job summary

Location: Leyland house, Leyand, PR26 6TY

Hours: 37.5 Hours per week

An exciting opportunity has arisen to work in our developing service. We are seeking applications from confident, enthusiastic and experienced social workers who are passionate about working in a perinatal service in Central and West Lancashire.

Main duties of the job

The successful candidate will hold an allocated caseload of socially complex cases working alongside senior clinicians and have responsibility for the delivery of high quality care. They will offer support and advice to the team and act as Safeguarding Champion, facilitating the team safeguarding supervision, supported by specialist safeguarding practitioners.

We welcome applications from both male and female applicants and although advantageous, there is no requirement to have previous perinatal experience, as training will be provided.

Education

Essential

  • A recognised Social Work Qualification at Degree level or above.
  • Current registration with the Health and Care Professions Council
  • A record of continuing professional development (CPD)

Knowledge

Essential

  • Detailed knowledge of how mental health problems impact on mother/child.
  • Knowledge and understanding of child development, parenting capacity, environmental factors and risk and the potential protective factors.
  • Knowledge of current best practice in perinatal mental health
