Main duties of the job

This role will lead on the delivery, implementation and management of a new Trust wide centralised reasonable adjustment system, which will centralise the process and funding. Using the Trust's continuous improvement framework to ensure that the planning, monitoring and governance of the project are carried out in line with relevant Trust policy.

This role will play a key part to incorporate consideration of diversity and inclusion issues into all aspects of Trust activities. The post holder will also support the Trust's D&I team to deliver on their objectives enabling the implementation of the inclusion and belonging programme.

The successful post holder must be a team player with the ability to work autonomously, manage competing priorities and deliver on agreed deadlines. You will need to have a flexible and adaptable approach to work and welcome change and progression. Expert knowledge of the policy and legislative context is essential, as is a passion for improving equality and human rights.

  • A relevant professional qualification, post-graduate degree or equivalent experience.
  • Significant management experience working in a human resources / equality, diversity and inclusion / Project Management / Management field with relevant experience and understanding of disability issues / reasonable adjustments and the Equality Act 2010
  • Experience of working in a management capacity and with people with a disability / long term health conditions, and negotiating reasonable adjustments, accompanied with significant understanding and demonstrable application of employment law, disability, the Equality Act 2010.

Knowl

Essential

  • Demonstrable knowledge and application of legislation and guidance concerning equality and diversity, the Equality Act 2010 / employment law, ideally in a workplace setting
  • Specialist knowledge and understanding of the issues and context underlying the specific project to be managed
  • Thorough knowledge of the types of challenges faced by people with a Disability in relation to employment, accessing health care and more broadly in society.

Experience

Essential

  • Experience of interpreting and applying employment law / Equality Act 2010 in practice, particularly regarding Disability / Long Term Health conditions
