B5-B6 Development Role - Childrens Occupational Therapy

We are looking for an enthusiastic Occupational Therapist with a passion to make a difference in our Children's Therapy service across the Pennine area in Lancashire. An exciting Band 5-6 Occupational Therapist development role opportunity has arisen in our welcoming and dynamic Children's Therapy Team in the Pennine area. The role will involve working with children and young people from 0-19 years with diverse and complex needs and supporting their families to ensure they are enabled and informed.

You will become a valued team member and be motivated to provide the best Occupational Therapy service to children and young people in need of our specialist skills. This is an exciting time to join our team as Occupational Therapy clinicians are heavily involved in shaping our innovative services.

The team you will be working in comprises of Occupational Therapists and Speech and Language therapists. We work closely with colleagues in health, education and social care to provide a holistic child-centred service. We work in a variety of locations, including clinics, children's own homes, special schools, nurseries and schools.

Main duties of the job

You must have a passion for developing your knowledge of child development through to adulthood and a commitment to continually develop your clinical competencies and skills. We are looking for someone who is able to understand optimal performance levels of a child or young person and who is able to use their Occupational Therapy skills to facilitate engagement in activity. Experience with Time Limited Interventions, Long Term Conditions and Early Years is important, or relevant experience that would be considered transferrable to the role. In return, for your commitment we offer regular clinical and management supervision and specialist support is provided by accessing service wide clinical specialism networks and professional forums. You will be supported to develop your skills at a B5 level and a robust plan will be put in place to extend those skills to a B6 level over a specified period of time.

Within Lancashire and South Cumbria NHS Foundation Trust the Children's Therapy Service is part of a dedicated Children and Young People's Wellbeing Network; this provides us with an excellent opportunity to work in partnership with our specialist colleagues in a number of child focussed services across Lancashire to ensure we meet the needs of children and their families with additional and complex needs.

To work as part of children's integrated therapy team providing an occupational therapy service for children referred for assessment and intervention.
