We have an excellent opportunity for you to work in Community Nursing Services within the Blackburn with Darwen Locality.
Please note: Work is ongoing to transform adult physical health services across the Pennine Lancashire Footprint supported by commissioners within the Lancashire and South Cumbria system. This transformation aims to ensure service users in Blackburn with Darwen and East Lancashire receive equitable service provision from one service provider. From around 1st April 2024, the service provider will be East Lancashire Hospitals Trust. Staff employed by LSCFT will therefore transfer from LSCFT to East Lancashire Hospitals Trust around 1st April 2024 as part of this wider transformation plan.
Working as a member of the team, you will provide holistic, high quality, clinically effective care to patients, working under the guidance and support of the Team Leader and Team Manager. Our District Nursing teams are co-located with social work colleagues and the voluntary sector providing integrated neighbourhood working which supports person centred care.
Main duties of the job
District Nurses are highly skilled practitioners who carry out interventions which include:-
- Holistic assessment of needs
- Wound care
- End of life and palliative care
- Leg Ulcer management and compression therapy
- Diabetes management
- Bladder and bowel care
- Safeguarding
The successful candidate must demonstrate excellent clinical and communication skills to provide a high standard of care to ensure a positive patient experience.
Experience in community care is an advantage however this post is suitable for newly qualified staff who we support and encourage to apply. We have an excellent preceptorship programme for all our newly qualified staff. All our staff are supported to develop within their role to meet the changing needs of the service and their own professional development goals.
Staff wellbeing is high on our locality health and wellbeing agenda, and staff have access to our Employee Assist Programme and receive regular clinical and professional supervision.
We require flexible motivated nurses as our service operates 24 hours a day 7 days a week, including weekends, bank holidays and late shifts.
