Job summary

Are you a passionate and enthusiastic Speech & Language Therapist who is looking to work across services to deliver diagnostic and therapy services for children with possible Autism Spectrum disorders?

An exciting clinical leadership opportunity has arisen for a suitably qualified, registered and experienced speech and language therapist to work in the childrens therapies services, working with the diagnostic team within East Lancashire Hospital Trust.

This position holds responsibility for the clinical care pathway relating to ASD and specialist support into the diagnostic pathway. The post holder will have specialist skills in the area of diagnostic work as well as strong leadership skills. We are seeking individuals who are interested in undertaking clinical transformation projects to shape our future service delivery model.

Main duties of the job

We are looking for a motivated person to join our team who has a personal interest, specialist knowledge and relevant skill base in improving speech, language and communication skills for children and young people. We require commitment and drive for promoting lean diagnostic working, working between organisations and the teams within them.

You will work in partnership with the Team Coordinator and AHP leadership structure to support the day to day management of Speech and Language Therapy staff. You will manage a complex caseload and be capable of working autonomously to provide direct clinical care. You will be able to provide effective clinical and professional supervision, be able to identify training needs of individuals and lead on the delivery of suitable training, demonstrating high level, expert speech and language therapy skills and knowledge. You will be required to support student placements and be required to meet the travel requirements of the post.
