Job summary

The role of the Legal Team Officer is a new role within LSCft and the legal team. The successful applicant will oversee the collation of information required to support Coroners in preparation for inquests, and play a key role in the daily business of the legal team. The role requires someone who is organised, timely in their work, and has a good eye for accuracy.

Main duties of the job

The Legal Officer will support the improvement and assurance of safety within the Trust by managing and monitoring the Trust processes and systems for compiling legal records and information for inquests and claims. This will include reviewing and responding to requests from coroners officers (and other members of the legal team), and the production of patient care records packs.

They will work closely with other members of the Safety Department and the wider Improvement & Compliance Directorate as part of this role. Additionally, the post will support and provide cover to the patient safety team during increased periods of activity.
