Job summary
The post holder will utilise CAMHS core skills to undertake assessment, formulation, risk assessment, goal-setting and low intensity CBT interventions for worry/low mood/behaviour/sleep. They will deliver interventions on an individual or group basis in accordance with an agreed care plan, to an identified caseload. This will be under close clinical supervision from a more senior clinical psychology practitioner. Case report writing and multi-agency liaison are also core elements of the role. The post holder is responsible for the assessment of needs and contributing to the formulation of the child/young person and family's needs and the development of a relevant plan based upon the child/young person and family's negotiated goals and relevant evidence based interventions. The post holder, in conjunction with the multi-disciplinary team, will provide low-intensity evidenced based interventions to support the child/young person and family to meet their agreed goals. The post holder will coordinate and/or participate in the review of progress towards those goals, utilising agreed outcome measures, involving the child/young person and their family throughout their care.

This is a developmental role for a newly qualified (or new to CAMHS) registered practitioner/ associate.
This is an exciting opportunity to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team within Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS). As part of the team you will take part in the delivery of high quality service provision that promotes and improves the mental health and well-being of children and young people, their families and carers. Working within a systemic and holistic framework you will undertake needs led, evidence based, highly skilled assessments and therapeutic interventions to children and young people, their families and carers, who present to the service. These assessments will also include young people needing support due to deliberate self-harm.
We are looking for a registered nurse, qualified social worker, occupational therapist or those of other alternative routes- please see the attached associate person specification. The successful candidate will be enthusiastic, self-motivating, have the ability to case manage and will display excellent interpersonal and communication skills in order to establish good working relationships essential to the success of the service.
