Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and motivated band 5 APP to work within Preston & South Ribble PCN. We have funding for one permanent full-time role, and this role will work across four different practices across the Longton and Preston area.

PCNs are a group of General Practice Surgeries who work together and share resources. Being part of the PCN team, you will work alongside other members of the 'behaviour change team', such as other mental health practitioners, social prescribers and health and wellbeing coaches.

Main duties of the job

Working across a PCN, you will provide assessments, structured formulations and brief psychological interventions to help meet presenting need and supporting your General Practice colleagues. You will be supervised by a Psychological professional. You will work closely with General Practice staff members and other mental health services and you may also work into the community, to help normalise mental health and teach others have to care for their emotional wellbeing. You will work as part of a team and contribute to the psychological understanding of distress and behaviour. There will be opportunities to hopefully shape this role alongside the PCN, and/or the T/APPs clinical team, which may include additions or adaptations to the current service delivery model.
