Senior Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner

Location: Fylde and Wyre Talking Therapies

The NHS Talking Therapies Service (as part of Lancashire and South Cumbria NHS Foundation Trust) offer this great opportunity to work as a Senior Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner.

Main duties of the job

We are currently recruiting for a position in the following Team - Fylde and Wyre. These roles are offered on a full time permanent basis.

You will be supervising a team of dynamic and committed qualified Psychological Wellbeing Practitioners (PWPs) and trainees as well as providing leadership to those staff in terms of performance and well-being.

You must be a qualified Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner who can provide evidence of consolidated post qualification experience working within the PWP role including PWP registration with BABCP or BPS.

Lancashire & South Cumbria NHS Foundation Trust provides a range of services including secondary mental health care across this area. Specialist provision comprises inpatient child and adolescent mental health services, perinatal mental health and forensic services including low and medium secure care.

The Trust also provides a range of physical health and well-being services in the community alongside a range of partners in the Lancashire, Cumbria and Sefton area.

Education

Essential

  • Completion of a suitable accredited course E.g. PG Cert PWP Training or Graduate Mental Health Worker Qualification with certificate of exemption from the NHS England PWP Competency Scheme
  • Registered as PWP by BABCP or BPS (completed or pending)

Desirable

  • Training in other psychological therapy

Knowledge

Essential

  • Knowledge of NHS structures and policy within a primary care context.
  • Understanding of the role of mentoring
  • Knowledge of mental health referral pathways and procedures.

Experience

Essential

  • Substantial post qualification clinical work in an Talking Therapies setting.
  • Experience of providing clinical supervision
  • Experience of mentoring trainees
