The Mental Health Liaison Team (MHLT) is based at the Avondale Unit, Royal Preston Hospital (RPH) and provides support to Lancashire Teaching Hospital (LTH) for service users referred via A&E (RPH) and/or The Urgent Care Centre (Chorley General District Hospital) and also from acute wards at both RPH and CDGH.

Main duties of the job

To assist in the provision of quality evidence based practice and care, within a busy A & E department and Acute wards. Providing advice; support and care, liaising with other agencies under the guidance of the Mental Health Liaison Nurses for Service Users and their families who present often in a distressed state with complex mental health needs and Social difficulties.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced and dynamic Band 3 Support worker to be part of a Team, working within a very busy, fast paced environment, which provides unscheduled care for services users over the age of 16 years.
