Job summary
Social Worker NL&SC SPCMHT covers a vast footprint including Blackpool, Fylde & Wyre, Lancaster and South Cumbria. We are seeking applications from confident, enthusiastic and experienced social workers who are passionate about working in a perinatal service. The successful candidate will hold an allocated caseload of social complex cases working alongside senior clinicians and have responsibility for the delivery of high quality care. They will offer support and advice to the team and act as Safeguarding Champion, facilitating the team safeguarding supervision, supported by specialist safeguarding practitioners.
We welcome applications from both male and female applicants and although advantageous, there is no requirement to have previous perinatal experience, as training will be provided.
Main duties of the job
- The post holder will be an integral member of the multidisciplinary team within the team.
- To participate in the ongoing development and maintenance of a quality region wide perinatal service through effective collaboration, liaison and prioritisation with statutory and non-statutory organisations.
- Contributing to the building up of local care networks for mothers across Lancashire.
- To work as a Member of the multidisciplinary team in partnership with service users and other professionals with-in the Care Programme Approach framework - managing complex packages of care for both mother and infant.
- To act as an autonomous senior clinician being responsible for an allocated caseload.
- To manage self and practice in accordance with the Health and Care Professionals Council - recognising professional limitations, demonstrating ability to practice within ethical and legal frameworks with clear understanding of service users, carer's and their statutory rights.
- To support, supervise and contribute to the professional development of members of staff working in health and social care regarding perinatal mental health.
- To participate in the mentorship, education and supervision of students from a range of disciplines.
