Practice Development Nurse - Band 7 - 37.5 hours per week (5 days) SECONDMENT

SECURE MENTAL HEALTH SERVICESGUILD LODGE, WHITTINGHAM

Secure Mental Health Care for Lancashire and South Cumbria is provided at Guild Lodge, Whittingham. The service has steadily expanded from it's inception in 1999 and currently has a range of inpatient and community services including 164 beds.

Guild Lodge consists of 3 main service lines (15 wards), which include:

  • Men's service
  • Women's service
  • Acquired Brain Injury Service

Main duties of the job

Caring for adults within Medium and Low Security, and Step Down environments

Each of the services has their own model of care and provides bespoke training in addition to the comprehensive Trust Induction.

Applications are invited from experienced qualified nurses with leadership qualities

The post is to support clinicians and managers in developing quality mental health services that reflect contemporary practice and complement the aspirations of national guidance and local health improvement programmes, whilst meeting the Trusts Clinical Governance agenda.

To lead and support practice development initiatives prioritised in inpatient services as required to facilitate the delivery of evidence based high quality care.

To develop systems of benchmarking, audit and evaluation in order to measure and monitor standards of practice as part of the inpatient clinical governance team.

Guild Lodge hospital site is situated in beautiful rural area, yet close to motorway links from all directions of travel.
