The primary role of the post holder will be to provide specialist support, advice and training to stakeholders within the Primary Care Network (PCN) ( e.g., to schools, GP's, Universal services and Voluntary, Charitable and Faith Sector organisations) to aid better recognition of child and adolescent mental health needs and disorders at an early stage and advise on strategies for interventions.
The Primary Mental Health Worker will play a major role in establishing links, educating and communicating with stakeholders within the PCN. They will be responsive to the particular needs of the locality.
The post holder will also develop and explore new and innovative ways of working directly with children, families and workers prior to referral to other agencies and specialist teams within the THRIVE model promoting early help and enabling them to seek help and advice in order to address the early manifestation of mental health difficulties.
Main duties of the job
The recruit will join a multi-disciplinary team in the development and delivery of Thrive - identifying mental health difficulties at the earliest stage and facilitating the provision of services that promote resilience and enable positive mental health.
This is an opportunity for a registered and experienced professional, from a range of backgrounds (nursing, OT, social work) to utilise their skills and experience in working with children, young people and their families. The ideal candidates will have post-qualification experience with an understanding of mental health difficulties as children develop, as well as the ability to work with children, young people and their families, and colleagues from a wide range of professions and organisations. You will be competent to work independently and as part of a multi-disciplinary team. You will be able to advise on, navigate and develop pathways to ensure our children and young people's mental health needs are met at the earliest stage.
This opportunity allows successful candidates to gain experience in leadership and supervision whilst working within friendly and supportive team in the Fylde and Wyre locality.
