Job responsibilities

Opening in 2023, the Woodview Unit is a newly refurbished building on the Whalley site which will have a total of 32 beds including 12 Male, 12 Female and an 8 bedded Male PICU unit. These additional beds will complement those on the Pendleview Unit, Royal Blackburn Hospital.

The Woodview Unit is being designed with extensive input from service users and clinicians and is based on safety by design to ensure that it can provide high quality care. The ethos of the unit is to provide therapeutic care which is empowering, person-centred and needs led, and focuses on promoting recovery and independence.

Pendleview consists of 6 wards which are, Darwen ward a19 bedded male treatment ward, Hyndburn a 20 bedded female treatment ward, Ribble ward a 15 bed male treatment ward, Edisford a 14 bedded female treatment ward. Calder a 6 bedded male PICU and Hurstwood an older adult functional ward with 6 males and 6 females.

For newly qualified Band 5 staff nurses there is an excellent preceptorship package and support available. Come along to find out more!
