Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen to work as the Team Manager of a nationally recognised yet, developing Tier 4 Access Team based at The Cove, Heysham and Lancashire. The aim of this team is to offer responsive and effective assessments of all young people aged 13-18 referred for Tier 4 CAMHS inpatient care, and to devise collaborative care plans and risk assessments based on positive risk taking and least restrictive practice. The service is committed to delivering quality care and being able to reflect on the importance of the service user journey.

The Team manager role is central to the safe and effective running of the service. We require an outstanding clinical and operational leader who is committed to providing a high quality, safe and effective service. The successful applicant will be encouraged to develop clinically and professionally. A high level of emotional intelligence will be required in the successful applicant, and the ability to be part of a cohesive MDT team will be critical to the role.

Main duties of the job

The access and outreach offer a responsive and effective assessment of the needs of young people across the Lancashire and South Cumbria footprint; that have been referred to the inpatient CAMHS service. This can also includes providing support to young people, families and carers to avoid admission.

You successful candidate will provide clinical operational leadership of the Access & Outreach Service, supported by the Matron and Service Manager.

  1. Provide line management to the staff working within the Access Team.
  2. To have continuing responsibility for the delivery of high quality service provision by the Tier 4 Access Team to ensure delivery of an integrated, responsive and person centred service.
  3. To develop and maintain robust partnership working arrangements between key stakeholders including NHSE, CCG community CAMHS and AMHS, and other third party organisations.
  4. Undertake / Participate in the completion of assessments.
  5. To ensure that staff in the Access Team have opportunities for continuing professional development, in order to provide evidence based practice, and to drive improvements in standards of practice in line with national standards.
  6. To lead the implementation of the safeguarding agenda within the Access Team in partnership with the LSCFT safeguarding team.
  7. To lead on reporting of key data including referral to treat targets for their respective team.
  8. Support cross cover of urgent tasks in ward managers absence.
