Job summary
We pleased to be recruiting a Senior Clinical or Counselling Psychologist into our expanding Clinical Psychology Service for Our Children in Blackpool Local Authority Care. The Psychologist will be part of a small team of Psychologist colleagues and will assist in providing a high quality, effective, trauma-informed service.
Main duties of the job
The candidate is required to provide psychological advice and case formulation, consultation, and training to non-psychologist colleagues including social workers, foster carers, residential staff, family members and others involved in the care of the children and young people. Candidates should be able to demonstrate experience of working with children and young people who have experienced developmental trauma and with the systems surrounding those young people, following a consultation model. A good understanding of child development and complex trauma is essential along with accreditation in at least one model of a relevant therapy, experience of delivering supervision and training. A small amount of direct face to face work may also be required where signposting of young people is not possible/appropriate which gives a good opportunity to maintain and further develop direct specialist therapeutic skills.
