Pennine Lancashire are seeking experienced Band 3 Healthcare Support Workers to join our developing team at our new Whalley site, Calderstones Hospital. There are various hours available to suit your needs.

This is an exciting opportunity and the successful candidate will be part of an evolving service that has the needs of our service users at its heart. We are looking for someone who is enthusiastic to come and join a forward thinking, dynamic and constantly developing team.

Main duties of the job

The team offers high quality care working with adults who require a holistic assessment and ongoing assessment. You will be working across our assessment, treatment and PICU wards. You will also work with families and carer's and work alongside other agencies to promote well-being, support for individuals, their carer's, and families during the process, this will include supporting service users with accommodation and finances.

You must have excellent communication skills, and a good working knowledge and understanding of adult mental health and the needs of individuals in this group.

Specialist provision comprises inpatient child and adolescent mental health services, perinatal mental health and forensic services including low and medium secure care.

  • NVQ Level III or Higher in Health and Social Care or QCF Diploma in Health and Social Care
  • or an Interest in completing the above training or can demonstrate the equivalent skills and knowledge gained through work (paid/unpaid)

Experience

  • Working in a caring environment. For example, nursing home, care home, hospital ward, home carer etc
  • Up to date or working knowledge of de- escalation techniques, Control and restraint and Management of Violence and Aggression (MOVA)
  • Working as part of a team

Knowledge
