Job summary
They will provide safe, personal and effective care and support to patients, families and service users working within a multidisciplinary team and carrying out a diverse range of duties. They will support the registered nurses, contribute to ongoing assessment and care planning for patients. They will monitor the condition and health needs of patients on a continual basis in partnership with the multi-professional team. They will receive regular support and supervision from a Registered Nurse and be encouraged to take personal responsibility for clinical supervision and continued professional development plan. They will actively promote teamwork, within the clinical team in accordance with the Trust values and Code of Conduct. They will exercise professional accountability and responsibility using skills, knowledge and expertise in changing environments, across clinical boundaries and in unfamiliar situations as outlined within the NMC Code of Professional Conduct. They will work flexibly by working a rotational shift pattern including weekend and night duty to meet the needs of the ward and the wider network. They may be required to move clinical areas at either short notice or no notice in order to meet the changing needs of the service. They will participate in the process of internal rotation as and when required.
Main duties of the job
A great opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated, suitably qualified, experienced, confident and forward thinking individual to work as a Registered Nursing Associate (RNA) on our female acute wards at the Harbour.
You must be able to provide clinical leadership and motivation to develop the existing staff whilst maintaining high professional standards, demonstrating commitment to staff development and patient care.
You will need to possess excellent interpersonal skills, have leadership and staff development skills. A strong commitment to your ongoing professional education and development is essential.
The successful post holder will be expected be able to rotate across the specialty areas and be able to work shifts covering 24 hours, seven days a week.
