Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Clinical Psychologist to join our Acute Therapy Service (ATS).

You will be joining a dynamic and busy service with a range of professionals and support staff.

The post is split equally across 2 teams based at Guild Lodge, Preston and Bridge House, Blackburn - the successful applicant will be required to work in both locations.

Main duties of the job

The Acute Therapy Service (ATS) is an initiative that aims to support service users during a mental health crisis by providing an alternative to the existing inpatient model. ATS is a psychologically led, structured therapy service, based on the principles of Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT).

The ATS is staffed by DBT trained staff who ensure that the principles and strategies of the model are applied to the service, the staff group and then to the service users. The programme is structured with the central aim being to help service users cope actively and effectively with their problems through skill acquisition whilst remaining in their home environment.

About us

We are looking for an enthusiastic, experienced and motivated Clinical Psychologist, currently registered with the HCPC, who has post qualification experience in working with people who present with complex needs and risk. We want to recruit people to the service who share our LSCFT Trust values and are confident in their ability to contribute. As such you will play a significant role in helping us achieve the team vision of delivering a high quality, safe and effective service for our service users and reduce or avoid unhelpful in-patient admissions and support early discharge from inpatient settings.

You will be joining a dynamic and busy service with a range of professionals and support staff. You will receive regular clinical supervision from the Clinical Lead for the service as well as management and professional supervision and appraisals. Training and professional development is supported and encouraged and the Trust has close links with all three Clinical Psychology Doctorate Courses.
