Job summary

ADHD services are undergoing an exciting and progressive transformation program.

We have a fantastic opportunity for experienced and enthusiastic Non Medical Prescribers to join the Adult ADHD Service in Halton and Knowsley and Sefton. Posts are split across multiple sites: Willis House, Vine Street and Netherton Health Centre.

Our professional and supportive team of consultants, NMP, and ADHD Nurses respond to the needs of adults either pre/post diagnosis of Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder.

The post holders will carry out initial assessments of service users following agreed practice guidelines as part of a multi-disciplinary team and participate in the shared caseload of the team. As Non-Medical Prescribers, the post holders will be responsible for commencing medication, titration, and monitoring the effectiveness of selected treatment.

The post holder will operate as part of an integrated Adult ADHD team but be expected to be flexible in terms of delivering care within a variety of environments. The team also provides in-reach support to other teams across the Trust, giving you an opportunity to support service users with a range of health needs and mental health problems including those within the neurodevelopmental portfolio. We adopt a shared decision-making approach, empowering patients to make informed choices about their care. The role provides a fantastic opportunity to creatively develop the role and work with senior team members to help shape service improvements.

Main duties of the job

Formulate, contribute to, and participate in, the development and implementation of assessment and care planning systems in collaboration with the multi-disciplinary team.

Manage a case load within the Adult ADHD team.

Carry out generic and specialist assessments, including risk and provide therapeutic interventions.

Assist in the development and implementation of integrated care pathways, including appropriate service user assessments/referrals and models of care.

Ensure record keeping is in accordance with Professional and Trust standards.

Ensure the safe management of medicines and adhere to safe practice and principles of administration in accordance with the NMC code of professional conduct and Trust Medicines Code.
