Mersey Care NHS Foundation Trust

Clinical Service Manager - Rehabilitation and AHPs

The closing date is 10 February 2026

Job summary

We are currently looking to recruit a highly motivated and enthusiastic Band 8b Clinical Service Manager to join a vibrant and diverse leadership team delivering Allied Health Professional services and Phlebotomy across Community Services in Mersey Care. This post will lead the development of an Oral Nutritional Supplementation rationalisation service on behalf of the Cheshire and Merseyside system.

Cheshire and Merseyside currently has one of the highest ONS spends in England, with £18.7m spent in the year to August 2025. To address rising costs, variation in prescribing and gaps in nutritional care, the ICB has approved a new system wide, dietetic led ONS model. The programme has been shaped by the C&M ONS Steering Group, led by the ICB and the Provider Collaborative, with representation from Mersey Care, Mersey and West Lancashire, Countess of Chester Hospital and East Cheshire Trust. The service will focus on improving patient safety, reducing inappropriate prescribing, promoting food first approaches, and standardising pathways to ensure consistent, timely nutritional care. This is expected to reduce waste, lower ONS expenditure and ease GP workload.

Main duties of the job

This role will manage services, resources and information through delegated responsibility from the Head of Operations.

To lead the development of a Oral Nutritional Supplementation rationalisation service on behalf of the Cheshire and Merseyside system.
