Women's Secure Pathway Avoidance Programme supporting them towards a community pathway

Permanent position

This is an opportunity for a highly skilled, values driven leader to play a pivotal role in reducing restrictive practices. To maintain a pathway which prevents escalation to secure services and enables a position of secure hospital avoidance with a view to directing women to a community-based pathway across the North West Region. The role and the expectation is that the specialist practitioner will be instrumental in the long-term embedding of the HOPE(S) clinical model of care in clinical practice and be part of exciting developments to transform women's services in a trauma informed and gender sensitive way.

NHS England specialised commissioning (North West) and Prospect Lead Provider Collaborative have collaborated with Mersey Care NHS Foundation trust to continue to deliver the HOPE(S) programme following the successful national improvement programme to reduce long-term segregation and overall reliance on restrictive practices with children and young people, autistic adults and people with a learning disability.

Main duties of the job

To provide strategic clinical leadership and innovation using the most up to date and evidence-based theory and practice with a specific focus on the application of the HOPE(S) clinical model of care to reduce long term segregation and innovative strategies to improve clinical practice and reduce restrictive practices with children and young people, adults with autism and/or a learning disability and those with mental ill-health across Integrated Care Boards (ICB's) and Lead Provider Collaboratives in partnership with Mersey Care NHS Foundation Trust.

Qualifications

Essential

  • Professional Registration e.g. Registered Nurse Mental Health
  • Educated to or working towards Masters degree or equivalent level Or Post-graduate doctoral level training in clinical psychology accredited by the BPS, or its approved equivalent and professional registration with the HCPC
  • Demonstrable experience in clinical practice at a senior level
  • Evidence of post registration study / continuing professional development at masters level or equivalent

Knowledge/Experience

Essential

  • A demonstrated understanding of Equality and Human Rights
  • The post holder would be expected to have extensive abilities in delivering innovation and quality in clinical practice in a range of specialties, demonstrating leadership skills, change management expertise and the delivery of clinical developments that have tangible results for patients
  • Experience of Consultancy on complex cases and service improvement
  • Will have experience of promoting clinical effectiveness & standards setting via audit & governance frameworks
  • Will also be able to demonstrate training and teaching expertise in applied settings
  • Will be service user focused with a track record that includes examples of clinical practice that have required collaborative interdisciplinary work to improve adult services
  • Will require an in-depth knowledge of clinical care with significant evidence of post-registration development activity
