The post holder will act as the trust lead for antimicrobial stewardship. The post holder will also act as the clinical pharmacist lead for infection management and Intravenous therapy.The post holder will work closely with the infection prevention & control team and Regional AMR leads to co-ordinate and deliver a high quality AMS programme across the Trust.The post holder will also support ICB colleagues to positively impact antimicrobial prescribing practices in primary care, in line with national and local prioritiesThe post holder will be the flu and vaccination programme lead within the medicines management team and will participate in emergency planning in an advisory capacity.The post holder will be responsible for leading, delivering and developing a comprehensive clinical pharmacy and medicines supply service, providing specialist information and advice to all members of the multi-disciplinary team to maximise patient pharmaceutical care.

Main duties of the job
To be actively involved in providing a seven-day pharmacy medicines management service to Mersey Care NHS Foundation Trust. The post holder will act as the trust lead for antimicrobial stewardship. The post holder will also act as the clinical pharmacist lead for infection management and Intravenous therapy. The post holder will be the flu and vaccination programme within the medicines management team and will participate in emergency planning in an advisory capacity. The post holder will be responsible for leading, delivering and developing a comprehensive clinical pharmacy and medicines supply service, providing specialist information and advice to all members of the multi-disciplinary team, to maximise patient pharmaceutical care. The post holder will also participate in the dispensary rota to ensure that medicines are supplied in an accurate and timely manner and to maintain competency indoing so. The post holder will be responsible for training and supervising other pharmacy and trust staff members in issues relating to antimicrobial resistance and stewardship. The post holder will be expected to work flexibly in line with the hours of operation and requirement to provide an on-call service.
