Job summary
We are looking for a highly motivated, digitally experienced and analytically minded pharmacist to manage and strategically develop the medicines management clinical informatics service. You will be a key member of the medicines management senior management team and will work closely alongside the digital systems lead.
The post holder will act as the senior operational pharmacy professional for the development and implementation of medicines clinical information services, ensuring the digital medicines optimisation strategy is aligned with the organisation's digital strategy, medicines optimisation and business plans. The post holder will provide professional and managerial leadership for the development of clinical informatics systems utilised in medicines management, digital and business intelligence services, across the expanded organisation and for associated external services.
The post holder will lead the development of the work programme and manage the Medicines Management Clinical Informatics team to transform clinical service provision, patient experience and drive and support innovation.
Main duties of the job
You will support the Medicines Management senior team by ensuring the provision of high quality, medicines and pharmacy analytics and reporting to inform the provision of clinical and cost effective and safe use of medicines across the Trust to support accurate planning, forecasting and monitoring of medicine expenditure in addition to assurance regarding appropriate prescribing. In doing so, supporting the medicines management governance and quality agenda.

The post holder will provide professional and managerial leadership for the development of clinical informatics systems utilised in medicines management, digital and business intelligence services, across the expanded organisation and for associated external services. Service delivery must support the implementation of the trust and integrated care system medicines optimisation agenda and nationalpriorities.

Develop and review the Medicines Management Digital Optimisation programme and work with thewider medicines management, clinical systems and informatics teams to implement its components.5. The post holder will be responsible for implementing new data and informatics projects for thetransformation of Medicines Management Services by rationalising and consolidating informaticssystems where possible and streamlining processes where possible.6. The post holder will be responsible for developing innovative solutions for data management andreporting information regarding medicines management and optimisation.7. Develop strategies to rationalise, harmonise and consolidate clinical informatics systems following theexpansion or the organisation and where necessary develop interoperability and interfacing of currentlegacy systems to ensure timely access to historical data.8. Encourage initiatives to transform services that require digital or data solutions to improve the qualityof care provided to patients and streamline processes e.g., prescribing in primary care and communityphysical and mental health services.9.
