An exciting opportunity has arisen for a full time qualified Clinical Psychologist within Mersey Care NHS Foundation Trust to join an expanding multidisciplinary team meeting the needs of Children and Young People (age up to 18) experiencing a mental health crisis.
The post available is:
1.0wte Children and Young People's Crisis Response Team (CRT), permanent Band 8a, based in Knowsley.
We are looking for someone who has the knowledge, skills and values to enable them to work with Children, Young People and their families/carers at times of crisis, and to support MDT colleagues in providing high quality psychologically informed care within the context of a team that aspires to provide compassionate, safe and effective care.
The post holder will be part of a large and supportive Children and Young People's mental health service and will have access to high quality supervision, peer support and CPD opportunities (including strong links with the Liverpool Doctorate in Clinical Psychology Programme and opportunities for involvement in Clinical Research and Innovation).
Main duties of the job
To provide Clinical Psychology input as part of a multidisciplinary CRT, including the provision of rapid psychological assessment, formulation, brief psychological interventions, supervision, consultancy, training and evaluation/audit/research activities. The post holder will be expected to support and facilitating psychological practice of MDT colleagues including psychological professions colleagues (e.g. Psychological Therapists, Youth Intensive Psychological Practitioners).
The main aims of the CRT service are:
- To improve timely, responsive access to care and treatment for CYP/Families in crisis to support their health and wellbeing.
- To reduce inpatient admissions to Acute/T4.
- To improve clinical outcomes for CYP so they can live happy, healthy lives.
- To reduce CIC placements by providing wrap around care in the community.
The functions of the CYPMHS RESPONSE TEAM (CRT) are to provide:
- Single point of access for emergency referrals and advice and consultation to professionals/parents and carers and CYP
- Emergency assessment and follow up review
- Brief intervention and home treatment
