This is an exciting and rewarding opportunity to work in a Health Lead respite unit for adults with Learning Disabilities and complex physical health needs.
Mersey Care's Secure & Specialist Learning Disability Division Provides a wide range of services for people with complex needs. Within the learning disability services, all service users have a primary diagnosis of learning disability, often with additional diagnoses. As part of the MDT you will work with service users, families and carers, occupational therapists, psychology, social work and medics to provide a quality, effective and person centred treatment service.
Main duties of the job
As this role is specific to Learning Disability Nurses it will be to work in a Health lead Learning Disabilities Respite unit.
The role is focused on supporting people with Learning Disabilities and additional complex health needs through their adult life span. This will encompass supporting the individuals Physical health needs, mental wellbeing. Challenging health inequalities by supporting other servicers to make reasonable adjustments as required. Additionally to us a multi disciplinary approach working closely with other professionals , families and careers. Ensuring the correct legal frameworks are followed at all times.
