Job summary
We are looking to find enthusiastic and motivated IAPT Support Workers to join our step 2 team at Talking Therapies Liverpool; the NHS provider of primary care psychological therapies across the City of Liverpool.
Applications would be welcomed from those with experience of supporting people with common mental health difficulties; experience of running or supporting with the running of educational groups/courses; experience of data entry; and in promoting services/organisations.
The successful candidate will work alongside trainee and qualified Psychological Wellbeing Practitioners (PWPs); senior PWPs; and the wider Talking Therapies Liverpool leadership team to ensure the needs of the patients Talking Therapies Liverpool serves are being met.
Main duties of the job
Under the supervision of a qualified practitioner, the post holder will assist in the provision of high volume, low intensity cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) based self-management / guided self-help interventions, to patients displaying symptoms suggestive of mild to moderate anxiety and depression.
The post holder will provide support in all aspects of the delivery of psycho-educational courses (on topics such as anxiety, depression, stress, and panic), working in conjunction with their PWP colleagues. This will include the collection and inputting of important patient data; and supporting patients through to course completion and beyond.
The post holder will also conduct telephone support sessions for patients undertaking courses, at pre-determined stages in their treatment. This will include reviews / follow-ups after course completion.
The post holder will also help to promote patient engagement, including contacting patients waiting for treatment within the service.
The post holder will also support in mental health and wellbeing events in community settings across Liverpool to promote both self-management strategies and the Talking Therapies Liverpool service.
The post holder will be responsible for organising and maintaining the supply of the Talking Therapies Liverpool self-help literature, including expanding the range of information available to patients, will work with people from different cultural backgrounds, and should be committed to equal opportunities.
