An exciting opportunity has become available to join our dynamic team on Sheridan ward . We currently have vacancies on our female ward. The ward is a 16 bedded unit supporting adultsaged 18 and over.

Main duties of the job
Under the supervision of a qualified practitioner the post holder will implement a range of individual and group activities. The post holder will be required to use their initiative when working independently on the wards and are expected to report any clinical progress or change to a qualified practitioner.
The post holder will work to assist with the continuity of care for service users on their journey through the acute service.
The post holder will demonstrate an attitude which respects and values service users' choice and works along side them and their carers to ensure they are at the centre of care planning.
The post holder will carry out assigned tasks involving direct/indirect service user care and support service users under the supervision of a qualified practitioner.

CLINICAL
Under the direction of the qualified practitioner, participate in the delivery of planned care within both inpatient and community environments. The post holder will undertake a range of duties which include:-
Facilitate and support the development of appropriate personal care
Facilitate and support self help, communication and social skills acquisition
Assist and promote independence with activities of daily living
Facilitate a service users recovery by assisting them to participate in social, vocational, recreational and leisure activities within the appropriate setting
Participate in the implementation of specific programmes of care or therapy to develop and enhance socially appropriate adaptive behaviours under the supervision of qualified staff
Participate in regular supervision, engage in reflective practice and be committed to continued development
Provide information to enable the effectiveness of care to be evaluated.
Ensure appropriate records are maintained under the direction of the qualified practitioner.
Contribute to the involvement of service users, and carers/relatives in the delivery of care
Provide reassurance and support to service users and carers/family
Work collaboratively within the Care team to ensure that service users needs are met
Recognise and respond appropriately to urgent and emergency situations
Provide escort for service users and undertake transfer of service users as directed
Contribute to the development of services
Contribute to the effective and efficient use of resources
Understand and adhere to Trust policies, procedures and clinical guidelines
Report any concern regarding service user care to the Qualified Practitioner
Contribute to service improvement initiatives to enhance quality of service user care
