Job summary

The Cheshire and Mersey Specialist Perinatal Service is based across two NHS Foundation Trusts - Mersey Care and Cheshire and Wirral Partnership. The service provides specialist mental health assessment and support for local women experiencing moderate to severe mental health issues during pregnancy and postnatally. Our specialist teams also provide consultation and advice to fellow professionals providing perinatal care.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for the role of business analyst to work within the specialist perinatal service. You will based within Mersey Care but will be expected to provide support to teams across the three sites.

The post holder will provide a full information support and analytical service to the team, reporting on performance against national and local targets. You will work closely with the Business Intelligence team to ensure regular monitoring reports are produced.

This is a varied and challenging post.The successful candidate must have excellent communication skills and will be required to take a strategic approach, leading on data analysis, development, collection and validation of reporting from systems throughout the two named Trusts.

Main duties of the job

Principal Responsibilities:Work with information systems and teams across the Trust to produce analysis of non-financial data, providing interpretation and recommendations that meet the services needs.

Develop, monitor and produce timely perinatal Key Performance Indicators and trajectories for submission identifying emerging issues and risks to the Service Lead.

To support the Operational Lead in the development of models that can be used to support forecasting and capacity planning to ensure any developments or changes in practice recognise the resource implications, headroom available for growth and additional activity costs.

To provide data analysis and performance that evidences future business plans / tenders for service.

Support the team in the extraction and analysis of data.

Assist in the completion and submission of aggregate statutory returns and information to support audits etc.Provide information on request to key stakeholders.Ensure that all information is of a high standard so as to accurately reflect performance and progress against standards and targets and to highlight any data quality issues through the appropriate DQ feedback mechanisms in the Trust.

Develop processes to provide assurances to the Trust Board on performance.13. Participate in quality and business meetings and ensure that any information issues are fed back.14. Liaise with outside agencies, e.g. CCGs, TDA, CQC, Auditors etc. regarding submissions and queries.15. Act as the first line of support for queries around the interpretation of information, targets and trends within the Trusts performance reports.16. Create documentation for the service around data capture and ensure any national guidance is integrated into work procedure guides17. Work to tight deadlines in order to ensure that accurate information is made available to the Board, Committees, Divisional teams etc. as well as auditors and other key stakeholders.18. Assist in the production of information to support business planning and business development.19. Utilise performance reporting tools to identify areas of good and poor performance and to assist in the production of information statements etc. in order to support the delivery of perfect care.20. Providing data to support project work as required.21. To assist in the development of bespoke reports to enable analysis to improve practice.22. Attend Trust groups when required as representative for the local services directorate.23. Assist in the creation and implementation of procedures and processes to promote the accuracy of information produced and the maintenance of high standards in performance.24. Ensure the maintenance of standards of practice according to the employer and any regulating body, and keep up to date on new recommendations/guidelines set by the department of health(e.g. Perinatal, NHS plan, National Service Framework, National Institute for Clinical Excellence).25. Ensure that client confidentiality is protected at all times.26. Ensure clear objectives are identified, discussed and reviewed with senior management on a regular basis as part of continuing professional development.27. Attend clinical and managerial supervision on a regular basis as agreed with the manager.28. Participate in individual performance review and respond to agreed objectives.29.
