Job summary

This is an opportunity for a highly skilled, ambitious Social Care Leader to work for Mersey Care NHS Foundation Trust. We are looking to recruit a band 8a Social Care Lead to work across the Mental Health Care Division.

As a member of the Senior Management Team the post holder will be expected to contribute to the overall success of operational services. The Social Care Lead will focus on key operational/strategic areas and contribute to the wider division/Trust agenda to support the achievement of the Trusts statutory and regulatory objectives. Ensuring the delivery of effective governance frameworks for social care, and that our services are compliant with Social Care statutory requirements and Trust policies.

Main duties of the job

The role requires you to provide professional Social Care Leadership across Mental Health Care Division and to be an active member of the divisional and Trust wide Social Care Leadership Team.

Applicants should have a good working knowledge of relevant health & social care legislation. You will lead on Social Care transformation & integration by ensuring strategic development is achieved in line with the Trust's strategy. You will identifying social care developments to ensure transformation & integration reflects divisional/Trust Social Care priorities and will lead on the development and implementation of new social care business opportunities for the division/Trust.

Applicants should have excellent leadership skills supported by strong interpersonal and communication skills and be able to interact at all levels and work in partnership with other services and organisations. Good organisational, problem solving and analytical skills are essential as well as the ability to work autonomously using your own initiative and

  • Advanced evidence of core competences at Masters Degree level or equivalent. Demonstrable experience and competences to act and manage advanced practitioner level.
