Laboratory Manager - Blood Transfusion

Job summary

We are looking for a Blood Transfusion Laboratory Manager. Primarily working between Wythenshawe Hospital and North Manchester General Hospital but cross site working is essential to be involved in the dynamics of MFT Laboratory leadership team.

You will be a HCPC registered senior biomedical scientist with substantial senior-level experience in Blood transfusion and excellent motivational and development skills.

Main duties of the job

As a Laboratory Manager for the Blood Sciences Care Division, you will be required to take responsibility through the Lead Healthcare Scientist for defined areas of the service including operational management, departmental resources and technical services, staff, finance, equipment and space.

Working with senior colleagues you will be responsible for the overall operation and development of laboratory service areas providing a quality led, efficient and safe service and provide specialist advice on scientific and technical issues

  • HCPC registered, Fellowship of the Institute of Biomedical Sciences / MSc or equivalent.
  • Recognised management qualification or attendance at short courses on relevant management issues.
