Job summary

This exciting temporary role is to support a busy Children and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS). This position is part of a wider team of administrative support, where there will be an expectation of being able to flexibly whilst undertaking a wide range of duties such as coordination and direct liaison with patients and various teams, booking appointments for outpatient activity, letter writing, answering the phone for patients and supporting reception cover.

We are looking for an administrator experienced with working with the public in a bust health care team.

Main duties of the job

The role will assist Clinicians and Therapists in providing an efficient business support function. They will work collaboratively with colleagues, partners, patients and other stakeholders to meet service needs as part of North Manchester CAMHS.

Main Responsibilities / Tasks

Handling a high volume of incoming telephone calls from clinicians and patients in a professional manner

Taking and relaying accurate messages

Managing incoming queries by email and internal system tasks / adding referrals and patient contacts to the patient electronic system (PARIS)

To process, maintain and input data using a variety of IT systems, (mainly Excel, PARIS, Internal applications)

Booking appointments face to face and over the telephone

Type and send letters to patients and GPs as required

Update internal systems with patient information and updates

Communicate and empathize with distressed and upset patients / family member and carers over the telephone and face to face
