Assistant Waiting List Manager

Job summary

To support the Radiology directorate in the delivery of key NHS waiting list targets. Although the focus will be on national diagnostic and cancer targets, the post holder will be expected to contribute to the planning and implementation of the modernisation of booking and access to radiology, and will be expected to become familiar with the relevant administrative procedures across the Directorate for both adults and children.

Monitoring of radiology bookings and waiting list data is an essential part of this role and the post holder will be expected to interrogate and validate waiting list breaches and feed back to the Trust information team as part of the weekly report system.

The post holder will support and deputise for the Waiting List Manager in the management of all relevant functions, including staff and system management.

Main duties of the job

Ensure patients are appointed appropriately and within national timescale and to liaise with the appropriate clinical teams to ensure patients are booked within target time.

To interrogate, analyse and validate data provided by the Trust and/or Radiology information systems and produce reports in a variety of formats for distribution to key stakeholders.

To be an integral link to the cancer services team, ensuring scans are performed and reports are available for clinical staff in an effort to ensure that patients do not breach local and national timelines. You will also attend weekly Cancer PTL meetings.

To ensure the maximisation of available capacity across sites and where lists appear underutilised.

To support the management team in validation and interrogation of waiting lists across the directorate and ensure correlation between HIVE and other information systems

To support the validation of RTT returns for admitted and non-admitted patients to ensure accurate reporting.

Work with and be a point of contact for the administrative teams across the multi-site directorate to assist in ensuring their waiting lists are managed appropriately. Line manage booking and scheduling staff within imaging. Including allocating daily work tasks.
