Royal Manchester Children's Hospital (RMCH) is a large tertiary Children's Hospital that provides regional and supra-regional services to include most clinical paediatric specialties.

We have an exciting opportunity for a Dietetic assistant to join our team of 36 paediatric dietitians and 3 other dietetic assistants to support the dietetic department.
We are based in the 371 bed, purpose built hospital in the middle of Manchester's vibrant city Centre, where we strive to to develop our paediatric dietetic team to reflect state of the art facilities in the largest single-site children's hospital in the UK.
Main duties of the job
This post is mainly office based and administrative .
You will act as a link between dietitians and their patients requiring dietary modification, RMCH nurses, our special feeds unit and the catering service. But that's not all - you will also work with our dietitians to help create resources, conduct literature searches , undertake audits, input detailed information into databases , produce reports, and liaise with other health care workers to set up training and products needed to support home enteral feeding.
You will have opportunity to measure height and weight for children attending clinics, undertake patient / carer experience surveys ,extract information from electronic medical records and maintain stocks of nutritional products.
You will also be required to support the special feeds unit in preparing modified feeds.
You will be working with our other assistants in a friendly team and will quickly build on your interest in food and nutrition and your excellent interpersonal skills to provide comprehensive assistance to the dietitians.
You must be computer literate and able to create and manipulate databases and spreadsheets independently.
Previous experience of working in the NHS is desirable .You must have experience of working with children
We will provide a comprehensive induction programme and you will participate in appraisals with a view to developing the appropriate knowledge and skills .
