Job summary
We have an exciting opportunity to join our band 6 team at North Manchester General Hospital. Working on the Children's Ward and closely with the Koala (Children's Observation and Assessment Unit).
At NMGH we care for a wealth of children from a variety of backgrounds, requiring care from a range of differing specialties. These can include General Medicine, Surgical care, Trauma and Orthopedics along with CY P needing safeguarding, mental health and HDU level care.
Alongside our acute work, we also support with a range of elective activity, which includes sedated scan lists, ENT and Dental surgery.
Main duties of the job
To take charge of the ward and support staff in their roles.To liase with bed managers and operational managers regarding available beds on the ward as well as transfers in.To support the ward manager in ensuring staff appraisals are up to date and being familiar with management systems such as absence manager.Dealing with complaints from families as well as being able to troubleshoot daily situations on the ward.
