Job summary

We are seeking a motivated and committed Housekeeper to join our team. This is a key role in which you will work closely with the multi-disciplinary team including the Ward Manager, Unit Matrons, Nurses, along with support and domestic staff to ensure a safe, clean and organised clinical environment on Ward 68, the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit.

You will have an organised and positive approach to ensure the tasks at hand are carried out in a timely, effective manner, and maintain high levels of cleanliness in line with Infection Prevention Control policy. You must be able to cope well under pressure, and you will utilise excellent communication and team skills.

The right candidate will have theability to use their own initiative, be able to work as part of a team, and work undersupervision where required. Ability to plan and prioritise time and own workload is a must.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will work as an integral part of the muti-disciplinary team, to ensure a clean, safe, and comfortable environment.

The main elements of this role include cleaning and infection control responsibilities, maintaining stores, the re-stocking of supplies, together with any other tasks as directed by the Lead Housekeeper, Ward Manager and/or Matron teams.

The post holder will be required to work closely with the multi-disciplinary team, support services, monitor quality standards, report deficiencies, and take appropriate action to ensure the smooth running of the department. Patients/Parents' privacy and dignity must always be respected.
