Job summary

We are seeking a motivated and committed Housekeeper to join our team. You will be working 25 hours per week over 3 days, between Monday to Saturday .

This is an exciting and pivotal role in which you will work closely with the nursing and domestic staff to ensure a safe, clean and organised clinical environment.

You will take responsibility for ensuring that all medical equipment is clean and well maintained. You will undertake the ordering of stores and equipment on the ward, excellent computer skills are essential for this role. You will be responsible for assisting with obtaining feedback from our patients by using the What Matters To Me tracker and friend and family test. You will also be assisting the team in continuous quality improvement work.

You must be able to empathise with and consider patients as you go about your duties, you will have an organised and positive approach to ensure the tasks at hand are carried out in a timely, effective manner. Able to cope well under pressure, you will utilise excellent communication and team skills.

Main duties of the job

  • Maintaining/replenishing of stock levels both on the unit and in storeroom
  • Housekeeping of the unit-ensuring its tidy and clean and organised.
  • Maintaining testing of equipment on the unit i.e liaising with MEAM
  • Good record keeping (both of equipment and other housekeeper tasks)
  • Monitoring stock levels and ordering it in a timely manner.
  • Offering of refreshments to patients.
  • Ensuring that the food order has been sent and patients receive the right order.
  • Good communication between patients and staff.
  • Ensuring completion of WM2M & FFT surveys on a daily basis.
  • Good IT skills as due to HIVE implementation
  • Knowledge around the different systems online to access/report jobs(i.e estates, IT issues etc)
  • Maintain 100% compliance with mandatory training
  • Promote a safe working environment and participate in Moving and handling, food hygiene, waste management and fire safety practice
