Job summary

We are looking to recruit a Senior Clinical Trials Coordinator within Research and Innovation (R&I) at Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust (MFT) to support research across all MFT hospitals. This enthusiastic and self-motivated individual will coordinate the research portfolio for the CVTU (Cardiovascular Trials Unit) and Paediatric research teams at Oxford Road Campus, Wythenshawe Hospital and North Manchester General Hospital.

Main duties of the job

The successful candidate will be an exceptional communicator with effective organisation skills and be confident in managing a demanding and varied workload. Excellent IT skills and the ability to work with several projects simultaneously are essential.

The post holder will act as a main point of contact for CVTU and Paediatric research teams, working closely with the Trust Research Office, clinical colleagues, and service support departments within MFT along with external pharmaceutical companies. They will ensure that comprehensive, high quality and efficient administrative processes are in place and followed for the set up and coordination of studies, ensuring full compliance with internal Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and the regulatory framework in order to support the successful delivery of the research portfolio for this speciality.

They should be educated to degree level in a health-related discipline or have demonstrable experience in the conduct and management of research and clinical trials.

Line management experience would be desirable.

The post holder will be required to work cross site across our research campuses.

  • Degree in a science or health-related discipline, or a degree in another field with experience in clinical trials, or relevant experience
  • A thorough understanding of the clinical trial process.

  • MSc or an equivalent qualification in clinical trials or a health-related discipline.
