Job summary
This post is to support the roll out of an exciting pilot project providing community screening of people in hard-to-reach groups for cirrhosis. This project aims to identify and engage people using local alcohol and drug services. The people will be offered screening for cirrhosis, interventions to maintain good liver health and 6 monthly ultrasounds to screen for early liver cancer where cirrhotic using enhanced support and direct to patient incentives to encourage attendance at screening.
The postholder will work closely with the Hepatology Service at MRI and the Infectious Disease outreach service at community sites. The community outreach work will be coordinated strategically by the Greater Manchester Hepatitis C Operational Delivery Network (ODN).
Main duties of the job
The postholder will support the provision of the highest quality patient care through dedicated administrative and clerical support and continuous improvement. The postholder will support the Service Administrator in ensuring the provision of a comprehensive service to the team. The postholder will line manage and support the Service Administrator, also assisting the distribution of clerical work in the team. They will also take a lead in administrative and clerical issues relating to care pathways, tracking and support.
The postholder will provide a patient focused service that supports clinical staff in the provision of an efficient pathway with the best use of resources and ensure that patients seen in the right place, by the right person, at the right time.
