Job summary

Manchester Foundation Trust is a leading provider of community, acute tertiary and specialist healthcare services in Manchester. We are currently recruiting to two full time Named Nurse Safeguarding Children positions within the Manchester Community Safeguarding Team however the post will cover the MFT footprint. This post is an exciting opportunity for a motivated, committed and experienced safeguarding practitioner to lead and drivesafeguarding activity within the organisation. You willbe a key leader inthe safeguarding team that consists of Named Nurses (community, acute, adult and midwifery services), Specialist Nurses for Safeguarding, Looked After Children, Multi Agency Safeguardingand Complex Safeguarding Hub Specialist Nurses and Administration staff. To succeed, you will need to be highly motivated to ensure safe and effective services for safeguarding vulnerable children and adults remains a priority for all staff working with the organisationacross community and acute services. There is a requirement for flexibility in being able to work across the safeguarding team, though this post is within the Manchester Community Safeguarding Team . You will be required to lead safeguarding health partnership working across Manchester working closely with multi agency partners.

Main duties of the job

The Named Nurse Safeguarding Children is professionally accountable to the Head of Nursing- Safeguarding and Assistant Chief Nurse - Safeguarding.The post holder will ensure the key functions of the Named Nurse for safeguarding children are undertaken for the Trust through:o Effective leadershipo The setting, monitoring and maintenance of robust safeguarding arrangements and training programmeso Collaborative interagency workingo Contributing to safeguarding governance.The primary focus of this post is the leadership of operationalisation of the organisations statutory functions, as defined within the Children Act (1989/2004)across the Trust.
